James Hutchins Lawyer

James Hutchins joined Kelly Hazell Quill as a solicitor in 2010 and has a general commercial law practice. James is experienced in a wide range of commercial matters, including content and IP licensing, services agreements (predominantly marketing and IT), trade promotions, and sponsorship.  James also gives advice on discrete areas of law such as consumer law compliance, trade marks, IP and privacy law. 
With a grounding in commercial litigation at DLA Phillips Fox, he has experience in all stages of litigation in areas such as commercial contracts, trade practices, insolvency, directors' duties, securities lending and employment restraints.  His litigation background assists him to identify potentially difficult issues in contracts or campaigns from the outset.
His private practice commercial work is complemented by considerable experience in secondment roles at Lonely Planet Publications, Kraft Foods and Landmark Operations.  Through his experience as a secondee, James is acutely aware of the needs of in-house counsel and conscientiously provides responsive, clear and business-oriented advice. 
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.
